BUT

You Feel Frightened of the Water

SOME OF THE REASONS COULD BE

Someone pushed you in

You were not aware of what was going to happen in the water when asked to jump in by the teacher, as a result was severely traumatized

You lost your footing on the floor of the swimming pool and slipped, not knowing how to get yourself upand struggled under the water, giving you the feeling of drowning, in fact a near to death experience

Parents just did not promote swimming when they were young

Was ridiculed because you could not put your face in the water

Too many children/adults in the swimming class making the person feel they were not getting the attention from the swimming teacher to help them

Teachers taking more notice of the ones who were not so afraid of the water

Some people have slipped off the side of the pool fell in and hitting their head when going down into the water. owing to the fact of lack of understanding by the on lookers who were laughing, fell unconscience, nearly died but have been resuscitated and sent to hospital and traumatized regarding being in the water until they met me!

Was playing about in a canal and got stuck in a large pipe because the water was running through it and there was a strong current, felt the water was the enemy. Took my 1-1 lessons and realised the truth about the water!

Was in the sea and couldn't swim and a strong under current swept the person under the water

Playing in the water as children and younger sibling sat on his sister and she couldn't get up. Luckily enough someone saw what was going on and she was rescued and revived, then taken to hospital

Lived on a barge and and was curious, wanted to see what was in a barrel, it was three quarters filled with water, fell in and managed to get out of the barrel. The second time he did it he got stuck and was very fortunate someone was passing by and saw his legs sticking out.

In all of these incidents people have been severely traumatized at the time and no counseling was given, so as a result the fear was pushed away at the back of the mind but getting bigger as the person grew up!

Imagine a 2 year old standing by an adult, how much taller would that adult be to the little tot?

HUGE!

If you were an adult standing next to a person about 3-4 times taller than you, how would you feel about that?

THIS PERSON NEXT TO ME IS AS TALL AS A HOUSE!!!!!!!

That is the SIZEof the fear you have inside you, simply because it was not addressed when an accident or ridicule happened to you as a child and so the fear of the water becomes illogical.

One of the common feelings is that the water is going to make you go down as soon as you put weight onto it. In effect, this is true but not to extent that your mind thinks, in fact when you lean on the water after the first few moments of the initial impact the water then gives way to your buoyancy and PUSHES YOU UP!!

The main cause of drowning is because the person does not know what to expect when they have been forced into a situation of being in the water. The main thought is I CAN'T BREATHE! So what do they try and do? The obvious; they look for ways of getting their head above the water to breathe but they cannot because there is nothing to hold on to! So the struggle to get up goes on and the WATER REACTS TO THE PERSONS KICKING PUSHING DOWN OF THE HANDS AS THEY TRY TO LEVER THEMSELVES UP!!!!

One thing to understand is this, THE WATER CANNOT THINK, IT REACTS TO EVERYTHING YOU DO. This is why people feel out of control when they enter into the water, they think the WATER IS THE ENEMY AND IS GOING TO DO SOMETHING TO THEM.
